The community is invited to join Washington School students who will be showing kindness during February by collecting money for The United Way of Crookston. Please bring your pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters to Washington School to help Feed the Bear to support the United Way of Crookston through February 14.

There are six agencies in Crookston participating in Giving Hearts Day 2022 on February 10 including Benedictine Living Community - Crookston (Villa/ Summit), Care and Share of Crookston, Cathedral Elementary School, Dakota Medical Foundation - Allan & Judy Dragseth Family Fund, Dakota Medical Foundation - Lenertz Family Health Fund and RiverView Foundation. Boys’ basketball gives up early lead to Thief River Falls

The Crookston Pirates boys’ basketball team fell to section opponent Thief River Falls (TRF) 42-80 on Monday, January 31. Just as they have the past few games, the Pirates took an early lead but gave it up as they hit a scoring draught late in the first half.

Eight different Pirates score in 10-0 win over Detroit Lakes

The Crookston Pirates girls’ hockey team had eight different skaters score en route to a 10-0 win over Detroit Lakes on Monday, January 31. Because the Pirates had beaten the Lakers 15-0 in their last match up, head coach Emily Meyer was able to play around with her lines, giving other girls opportunities to play.

Bruce Lysne

On Sunday January 23, 2022, Bruce Lysne, loving family member and accomplished photographer, passed away from pancreatic cancer at age 67. Bruce was born in Rugby, ND and married Cecilia Charbonneau in Fargo, ND in 1985.
