The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s basketball team split with Minot State and the University of Mary this weekend for its third split in a row. After holding out for a 71-67 win over UMary on Friday, the Golden Eagles couldn’t muster up enough energy to earn the weekend sweep against Minot.

Dance finishes 10 points away from state

The Crookston Pirate dance team finished its season just 10 points away from advancing to State on Saturday, February 5 in Wadena. Last year, the Pirates finished second to last in Kick, whereas this year, they placed fifth.

The Crookston Pirates girls’ hockey team earned the weekend split with a comeback win over Devils Lake on Saturday after losing 2-3 to Roseau on Thursday. After falling behind to the Firebirds 4-2, the Pirates put on a show as Rylee Solheim and Reese Swanson scored hat tricks for the 8-4 win.

Pirates’ Offense Improves In Loss to Warroad

The Crookston Pirates boys' basketball team showed some improvement in their 42-84 loss to Warroad on Friday, February 4. In their last match up, the Pirates scored just 29 points against the Warriors with Jacob Hesby scoring just under half of them.

Pirates have four champions in Northwest Tournament

The Crookston Pirate wrestling team had four champions in the Northwest wrestling tournament held in Fertile on Saturday, February 6. Evin Trudeau, Ethan Bowman and Ethan Boll won their varsity brackets, while Lucas Perala won his JV bracket.
