Kiel announces run for reelection in House District 1B

Representative Deb Kiel, R-Crookston, recently announced that she will run for reelection in District 1B. “I have been honored to serve our community for the last twelve years, and I look forward to continuing that work for the people and priorities of District 1B in the next biennium,” said Kiel.

Chamber Ambassadors visit Crookston Times, B&B Kreations

The Crookston Area Chamber Ambassadors gathered to recognize and congratulate two very vibrant and exceptional businesses in the Crookston community. The first visit was that of Bre Rasmusson with B&B Kreations.

North Star 4-H says thank you for winter gear drive donations

North Star 4-H Club wishes to thank the community for donations received during their recent Winter Gear Drive. Donations included handknit hats, scarves, socks, 75 pairs of hand-knit mittens, snow pants and various other winter gear. Club members also purchased fleece and made 120 hats for the drive with funding provided by the Minnesota 4-H Helping Hands Program. The donations were shared with the Care and Share Center and area schools including Washington Elementary, Our Savior’s Elementary, Cathedral Elementary, Highland Elementary, Crookston High School, Fisher School, and New Heights Elementary.

RiverView fills need by offering infant sleep studies

The term "sleep like a baby" means to sleep very well. However, the term does not pertain to all babies. Some infants suffer from sleep apnea, just as many adults do. In the past, worried parents had to take their infants to South Dakota or the Twin Cities for infant sleep studies, until recently when RiverView Health began offering the unique service in Crookston.

Polk County Environmental Services announces cost-share grant program

Polk County Environmental Services has opened a costshare grant program that is available to property owners in Polk County that have an existing non-compliant septic system. Funds are intended to fix septic systems that are currently failing codes or functionality. These dollars are made possible through a grant received from the Minnesota Clean Water Legacy Act.
