Sharp-tailed grouse and greater prairie chickens

In the springtime here in northwest Minnesota, sharp-tailed grouse and greater prairie chickens gather in large but separate groups on dancing grounds and booming grounds, sometimes called “leks,” where males of both species perform courtship dances to attract mates.
