Baseball tested in Hawaii

The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team struggled against the University of Hawaii at Hilo, winning just one game in the six-game series. The Golden Eagles won the final game of the series with just one run behind a complete-game shutout from Jake Dykhoff.

‘Two by Two’ at UMN Crookston a hit Saturday and Sunday

After two cancelled performances Thursday and Friday, February 10 and 11, due to winter weather, the show went on Saturday, February 12 in University of Minnesota Crookston's Kiehle Auditorium with musical "Two By Two." A surprise matinee Sunday, February 13 was also held as a makeup performance. Future performances are also being discussed.

Hoiseth honored in Adopt a Hydrant program

Caught in the act! Bob Hoiseth was caught cleaning out around the hydrant in front of his property and the Crookston Fire Department honored him as part of their Adopt a Hydrant program. When asked about adopting it, he stated he didn't want the recognition and has always thought it has just been the right thing to do.

CHS Knowledge Bowl Blue and Gold teams place 7th, 24th in competition

The Crookston High School Knowledge Bowl teams placed 7th and 24th out of 36 teams at a recent competition in Thief River Falls. Crookston Blue (Ainsley Boucher, Tatum Lubinski, Thor Harbott, Nathan Johanneck, and Madison Harbott) placed 7th today, just .5 away from 6th place.

Benedictine Crookston named training site for CNAs

Minnesota has launched a tuitionfree program to train, hire nursing assistants at long-term care facilities and Benedictine Living Community in Crookston answered the call to be a training site for future Certified Nursing Assistants.

Operation Round Up grant applications due February 25

Organizations involved in community projects and charities are encouraged to apply for funds from Operation Round Up at this time. Completed grant applications are due in the Red Lake Electric Cooperative (RLEC) office by Friday, February 25, 2022.
