UMC baseball drop series opener with Missouri S&T

After multiple weather delays, the University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team played their series opener with Missouri S&T on Sunday, February 27. The Golden Eagles fell 2-6 with a crippling six errors.

The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team hosted the first of its two winter camps on Sunday, February 27. Nearly 30 campers, K-12, worked with current Golden Eagles to enhance their skills.

The University of Minnesota Crookston softball team split results against Newman and Washburn universities on its first day in Topeka, Kansas. In Crookston’s second game of the day, host Washburn defeated the Golden Eagles 8-2.

Pirates celebrate Senior Night with fourth win

The Crookston Pirates boys’ basketball split results on Thursday and Friday, including a thrilling 73-70 win on Senior Night. Despite the win the night before, the Pirates were unable to ride the momentum into their game against Wadena-Deer Creek the next day, as they lost 50-76.

Isaac Erdman advances to State Free Throw Contest

Isaac Erdman and Makenna Weisse traveled to Kelliher for the Regional Free Throw Contest hosted by the Knights of Columbus on Sunday, February 27. Erdman won the 10-year-old boys' division with 21 total free throws.

CHS Knowledge Bowl competes at sub-regions

Crookston High School competed at the recent sub-regional meet in Thief River Falls and ended with 5th and 13th place out of 25. Crookston Blue’s fifth place scored them a spot at the regional meet on Wednesday, March 9.

CHS Math Counts places at competition

Crookston Pirates recently participated in MathCounts in-person and online competitions on February 16 and 17, and both meets were successful. Advancing to state for individuals were Sam Widseth and Leah Johanneck, and advancing to state as a team were Sam Widseth, Ashton Hoffman, Peter Wiersma and Jace Bruggeman.
