MNDOT: Highway 2 Crookston corridor study open house on May 24

The City of Crookston, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn- DOT), is conducting a corridor study to evaluate existing conditions and potential improvements that could be made along Highway 2 (Broad- way and Main Street) in downtown Crookston. The open house will be held on Tuesday, May 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Crookston City Hall - 124 N Broadway. The meeting was previously scheduled for April 28 and was delayed due to flooding.

This Memorial Day, the Crookston Veterans Council, which includes the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, DAV and DAV Auxiliary, VFW Post and VFW Auxiliary members would like to invite Crookston area residents to join us in the remembrance of our nation’s fallen heroes.

Crookston Area Community Fund accepting donations for disaster relief program

Crookston Area Community Fund (CACF), which falls under the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, continues to seek donations for the special disaster recovery and resiliency fund to help flood recovery efforts in the community. Donations will provide funding for the immediate and long-term needs of residents and organizations recovering from the recent flooding of the Red Lake River.

High Winds Fluster Trap Team

The Crookston Pirates trap shooting team faced a setback this week, as they had to deal with high winds on Wednesday, May 11. Last week, in their best week of conference yet, the Pirates had seven shooters with two rounds over 20.
