Local businesses join parent aware

A select group of child care programs are the newest local programs to earn their Parent Aware Ratings. Parent Aware’s mission is to help families find the quality care and education their children need to succeed in school and life. These child care programs all volunteered to go above and beyond basic health and safety requirements and use best practices to support child development. The experiences children have during their first years of life will shape the adults they become, making it especially important for all children to have access to quality care and early education.

Jon Dilworth Hired as Director of Industry Relations for Minnesota Beef

The Minnesota Beef Council (MBC) has hired Jon Dilworth to serve as the new Director of Industry Relations. Jon’s work in this position will include collaborating with beef retail and foodservice partners as well as providing leadership and coordination of the local producer promotion program. He will also serve as a key representative at trade show and retail events.

Updated Minnesota Groundwater Protection Rule Map Now Available

St. Paul, MN: The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has issued an updated map that will help farmers across the state comply with the Groundwater Protection Rule. The rule restricts fall application of nitrogen fertilizer in areas vulnerable to contamination, and it outlines steps to reduce the severity of contamination in areas where nitrate is already elevated in public water supply wells.

Question: Can someone please tell dealers or inform people that their auto lights do not work during daylight hours? Or put it on those digital signs along the interstates? I did not know this when I bought my 05 vibe and someone told me that. So when we had these storms and fog, there are people driving without lights at all or no tail lights and when it is a white or silver vehicle makes it worse.

American Legion Auxillary members attend conference

Margee Keller and Sharon Lanctot, members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Nels T Wold Unit 20 in Crookston attended the 2023 American Legion Family District 9 Mid-Winter Conference on Saturday, January 14th in Bagley, MN. District 9 President Cheryl Grover of Bagley welcomed about 50 Members from the District 9 Auxiliary which stretches south to Moorhead east to Battle Lake north to the Canadian border and west to the North Dakota Border. The District 9 American Legion Band provided entertainment during the lunch break. Erin M. Hagen Volunteer Service Coordinator from the Fergus Falls Veteran’s Home was the Guest Speaker.
