Minnesota law states that every driver is responsible for becoming and remaining aware of the actual and potential hazards that exist on the highway and must use due care in operating a vehicle.

Bernice Anna Lehman, 98, of East Grand Forks passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday morning, April 9, 2023, in REM North Star where she had been residing since 2020. Bernice was born on October 18, 1924, in Virginia to Edward and Elsie (Von Holdt) Lehman.

Colleen Mae Johnston Crow, 91, of East Grand Forks died on Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Legalization of Recreational Cannabis

As the Sheriff of Polk County, I was elected to enforce our laws and keep our community safe. With the Minnesota Legislature considering the legalization of recreational marijuana (cannabis). These bills have been moving through the legislature at a rapid pace, and I am concerned that state lawmakers may not address some key public safety issues that would arise if cannabis became legalized this session.

Minnesota Crookston Soccer to Host Player Development Camps in June

The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer program is hosting a player development camp for boys and girls grades Pre-K through sixth grade June 6, 13, 20, and 27. The cost for the camp is $40 and it will take place at the UMN Crookston Soccer Field.
