An Australian plumber shared a video that appeared to show a newborn puppy being rescued after getting stuck down a bathroom drain in Beenleigh, Queensland.

Joseph Egan of the Brisbane Plumber said a woman called around 10 p.m. panicking because her puppy fell through the floor drain and got stuck, according to an Instagram post. They initially thought the call was a prank, but it turned out to be real, Egan wrote.

Egan told the Courier Mail that two puppies had actually fallen down the drain, but only one ran through the gully and got stuck.

The plumbers used a CCTV camera to locate the animal so they could cut the pipes without causing harm. But, even after removing a section of pipe, the plumbers couldn't get the crying puppy free.

Instead, they gently shook the pipe until the puppy slid out. The puppy was not injured.

Egan wrote that it was "nothing short of a miracle" that the 2-day-old pup managed to survive in the drain for more than an hour. He said the kids wanted to name the dog "Lucky," but their dad suggested naming it "Dollars" because of how much he'd spent on the animal.

"Although he did say it was money well spent," Egan wrote.

According to the Courier Mail, the family settled on the name "Troopie."

"It's definitely not often you get a call about a puppy stuck like that, but also then that it survived," Egan told the outlet. "I'm amazed it survived and I've heard it's now doing really well."
