The Rams beat the Pirates 14-1 and 17-4.

CROOKSTON - Roseau's offense blew up for 31 runs across two games and limited Crookston (0-14) to five en route to a doubleheader sweep.

Game 1

The Rams (8-6) scored in four of the mercy-shortened game's five innings and put up a crooked number each time to win 14-1. Lindsay McFarlane (So. LF) had herself a day at the plate recording three hits and a trio of RBIs. Emma Zimmerman (Jr. C) and Chloe Johnson (Jr. P) also heavily contributed with their bats driving in a pair apiece.

Johnson toed the rubber for the Rams and held the Pirates to three hits and one unearned run while striking out six.

Opposite Johnson was Jasmin Hanson (Jr. P) who went all five innings and allowed 14 runs, four earned. The junior surrendered 14 hits and punched out one Roseau hitter.

Crookston's offensive spark came in the form of Kasey Cwikla (Jr. 3B) who notched 66% of the Pirates' three hits. Cwikla was also responsible for the only run when she smacked a base hit to right field to score Allie Love (Jr. RF).

Game 2

The Pirates played a much more competitive game in the night cap trailing 5-4 through three innings. Then, in the fourth, Roseau hit Crookston with a 10 spot and blew the game wide open on their way to a 17-4 victory.

All but one Ram tallied at least one hit and the same rang true in the RBI category. Amy Wensloff (Jr. 3B), Grace Jordet (Sr. 2B) and McFarlane all collected two RBIs in the win.

Roseau used two pitchers to get through this one. Rebecca Wensloff (8th Grade P) went the first 2.2 innings, and Johnson finished the remaining 2.2. Combined, the two allowed seven hits, four runs, two unearned, and struck out six.

The Pirates also used a tandem to complete the second game going to Sophia Steiner (Jr. P) and Ashlyn Genereux (Jr. P).

Crookston's runs came courtesy of RBI-plate appearances from Jenna Coauette (Fr. C), Love, Lessard and Cwikla.

The Pirates will now hit the road for a game against Park Rapids on Monday, May 13 at 4:30 p.m.
