The Dragons won 6-0 in a rain-shortened match.
Crookston struggled with Pine City a season ago, and this year's contest was no different as the Dragons handled the Pirates 6-0. Weather prevented the fourth singles match from finishing, but Derek Clementson (Jr.) of Pine City led Mason Owens (Fr.) 6-4, 5-3 at the time the match was called and deemed incomplete.
Pine City won all of their matches in two sets. The most games won in a single set by Pirate players were three. Blake Fee (Sr.) and Tanner Janorschke (Sr.) reached three in the first set in first doubles, and the second doubles team of Mason LaPlante (Sr.) and Robert Janorschke (Sr.) did so in their second set.
The Pirates (0-7) will stay overnight in Pine City and compete in the Pine City Invitational on Saturday, May 4. Matches start at 9 a.m.
