Crookston drops to 1-2.

    Roseau never trailed against the Pirates in either game, and the Rams downed the Pirates 7-3 and 11-2 in a doubleheader played in Roseau.

Game 1 

   Roseau (5-4) plated one in the first inning and struck for four in the second inning capped off with a three-run home run by Taylor Jacobson (Sr. RF).

    Down 7-0 after five, the Pirates scored their first runs of the game. Brooks Butt (Fr. 3B) drove in two with a single, and Joseph Ramirez (Jr. LF) made it a 7-3 game with an RBI knock.

    Daniel Wensloff (Jr. P) picked up the win on the mound for Warroad going 5.2 innings and allowing three runs on five hits.

    Brady Butt (Jr. P) took the loss after 3.1 innings. The junior allowed seven runs on nine hits.

Game 2

    A seven-run third inning busted the second game wide open as Roseau led 9-1 after three.

    Jade Selzler (Jr. P) started the game for Crookston and went two innings with two runs charged to him.

    Carter Bruggeman entered the game in the third and allowed six hits and seven runs as the Rams brought 11 batters to the plate.

    Zach Janicke (So. P) kept Crookston in check with 4.1 innings of work and two runs. Wensloff relieved Janicke in the fifth and finished the game striking out eight Pirates in the process.

    Brooks Butt and Joey Doda (Jr. SS) collected an RBI apiece, but the Pirates eventually fell 11-2.

    Crookston drops to 1-2 and will play their home opener at the Jim Karn Classic. Their first game is against Thompson on Friday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m.
