LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golf team placed 11th out of 12 teams at the 2019 Winona State University Invitational at Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Golden Eagles put up scores of 315 and 381 for a total score of 696. The scores on Wednesday were up considerably from Tuesday for all 12 teams competing. Minnesota Crookston bested South Dakota School of Mines by 14 strokes.
Connor Humble (So., Rosemount, Minn.) tallied rounds of 78 and 88 to finished tied for 36th. Ben Trostad (Fr., Crookston, Minn.) shot rounds of 81 and 92. Ben Koisti (Sr., Lake Norden, S.D.) carded a 76 and a 99. Ethan Magsam (Fr., Crookston, Minn.) turned in scores of 90 and 102. Ethan Johnson (Sr., Roseau, Minn.) carded an opening round 80, but withdrew in the second round.
University of Indianapolis won the team title with a score of 609, besting host school Winona State University by 22 strokes. Ian Carroll of Indianapolis and Michael Tait of Rocky Mountain College tied for the individual title with a score of 149.
The Golden Eagles return to action April 5-6 at the NSIC Preview in Liberty, Mo.
