Crookston falls to 8-16, Section 5-11 Section 8AA.

CROOKSTON - Roseau used double digit points from five different players, and the Rams beat Crookston on their Senior Night by a 60-47 final.

    Eric Hoffer (Sr. G) led the way for the Rams (18-6, 5-3 Section 8AA) in scoring with 14 points. Jack Hirst (Sr. F) and Nathan O’Connor (Sr. C) followed with 12 apiece, Jacob Lindemann (Sr. F) notched 11, Jeremiah Bender (So. G) added 10 and Jace Hulst (Jr. F) hit a free throw.

    On the Crookston (8-16, 5-11 Section 8AA) side, Walker Winjum (Jr. G) tallied 13 to lead the team. Caden Osborn (Jr. C) contributed 12, Nick Garmen (Sr. F) put up 11, Jaden Lubarski (Sr. F) totaled nine and Chris Kazmierczak (Sr. G) rounded out the list at two.

    After falling down 8-0 to kick off the contest, Crookston found a routine, outscored Roseau 26-22 throughout the rest of the frame but the Rams still carried a 30-26 advantage into halftime.

    The Pirates led at one point in the first half, 26-25, came within one down 43-42 in the second half but could not even the score.

    Roseau began to pull away in the final five minutes, and closed out a 60-47 victory.

    For Crookston, they are in the midst of a four-game losing streak, and a skid that includes eight defeats in the last 10 games.

    The Pirates will play the remainder of their regular season on the road. The first of two comes against Breckenridge on Tuesday, February 26 at 6:30 p.m.
