This week's Pirates of the Week are Halle Winjum, Nolan Dans, Quinn Westlake, Brady Butt, Rylee Solheim, Hannah Brouse and the Treasurettes Varsity Team.

Girls’ Basketball
Halle Winjum - 7th Grade G

Head Coach Darin Zimmerman says, “Halle is a very talented player and is already having a positive impact on our team. She is a gym rat who loves to play the game. She is a true two-way player who is very good on both sides of the ball. She has started taking on a bigger role, and it has made our team better.”

Nolan Dans - So.

Head Coach Wes Hanson says, “He picked up his 50th career win at the Northwest Tournament in Fertile last weekend. Nolan is a hard worker and has solid technique. I'm proud of his accomplishments and look forward to what he will do this postseason.”

Boys’ Hockey
Quinn Westlake - Jr. F

Head Coach Josh Hardy says, “Quinn, a junior forward for the Pirates, has stepped up his game over the last month providing not only an offense punch, but a strong defensive presence as well. Quinn has scored three goals in the last two weeks including big ones against Detroit Lakes and East Grand Forks. His nose for the net will be huge if we want to make a playoff run.”

Boys’ Basketball
Brady Butt - Jr. F

Head Coach Greg Garmen says, “Brady has been starting the past seven games and has done a nice job in his new role. He plays solid defense and rebounds well for us. Brady gives us a physical presence inside to say the least.”

Girls’ Hockey
Rylee Solheim - Fr. D

Head Coach Tim Moe says, “Rylee has had a great year for us. She is just about unbeatable in a 1-on-1 situation. On the season, she has two goals and three assists. One of those goals came this past Saturday when we were playing shorthanded 3-5. She showed great anticipation and skill to score a goal in a situation that is extremely rare.”

Glistening Edge
Hannah Brouse - Fr.

Coaches Rachel and Andrea say,” Hannah has been on the team for three years now and has continued to improve more each year. She has a lot of energy and a fun personality, which makes our practices a little more exciting. She’s not too shy to always perform with a big smile on her face. Keep up the good work.”

Varsity Team

Head Coach Adrianne Winger says, “The Crookston Pirate Treasurettes’ 4A Section Tournament will be held on Saturday, February 9 in Wadena. The varsity girls have been working to prepare their Jazz “Live Like Legends” and Kick “We Will Rock You.” We are the smallest and youngest team, but our passion and determination are like no other. Good luck, girls. I am so proud of you.”
