Needing to place in the top two, Oman competed in the 100 yard freestyle and took second at 55.59 which edged out the third place finisher by five-hundredths of a second.

    The CHS students and staff stepped out of their classrooms to congratulate and wish Thea Oman well before she headed to Minneapolis for the state swimming meet. Oman qualified for state on Saturday, November 10 at the Section 8A Meet in Warroad.

    Before advancing, the senior broke a school record with a 200 yard freestyle time of 2:03.86 in the prelims and went on to place third in the finals just missing a spot at state.

    Oman will compete at the state meet on Thursday, November 15 at Jean K Freeman Aquatic Center, U of M. The prelims for Class A start at 12 p.m. and Oman will swim in the seventh event.
