Crookston completed their season with a record of 1-15-1.

The Pirates played their final match of the season against No. 1 Bemidji in the first round of the Section 8A Tournament. Crookston traveled to Bemidji as an eight seed and lost 10-0 to end their 2018 campaign.

“We held our own for most of the game,” Head Coach Sarah Reese said. “[Bemidji] attacked the net and were great passers and aggressive to shoot. For a variety of health and family reasons, we only had two subs so it made it difficult when [Bemidji] was subbing five to six at a time.”

The Lumberjacks scored four times in the first half and six times after the intermission.

Reese Swanson (7th Grade GK) played all 80 minutes in the net and recorded 28 saves, a season high. Swanson finished the season with a total of 112 saves.

“Reese was really busy in the goal as you can see by the saves,” Reese said. “Olivia Huck and Sophie Sanders also had a great game.”

Crookston completed their season with a record of 1-15-1. They graduate four seniors and Reese made sure to include them in her post-game comments.

“[It was] a sad day for our seniors and we are thankful for their many contributions,” Reese said.
