The well-struck seven iron on a hot Thursday afternoon of August 9 at Minakwa Golf Club landed just short of the cup on the par-3 hole No. 4 and after one hop, disappeared into the cup. And, with that, Rich Sanders had scored the first hole-in-one of his life. After the ace, Sanders told the Times he had “come close” before. Mark Lyczewski and Mark Myrold were on hand to witness the big event.
