The Reds fell to 3-4 on the season after dropping their second straight game.
The Crookston Reds welcomed one of the top teams in their league in the Moorhead Brewers. The Brewers lived up to the hype totaling 11 runs and shutting out the Reds.
Lars Brevik started the game for the Reds and tossed six innings while giving up five runs, three earned, and striking out six. Logan Forseth and Joey Koenig combined to pitch the final inning.
The Reds limited the Brewers’ offensive attacks and only trailed 3-0 after four innings. Moorhead eventually broke out and scored eight runs in the final two innings to gain an 11-0 advantage and forced the mercy rule after seven innings. Crookston could only muster two hits in the effort.
The Reds’ record falls to 3-4 and they will hope for a quick turnaround when they play host to the Thief River Falls Bombers on Thursday, May 31. The first pitch is set for 8 p.m.
