Nate Lorenz, Darin Viken, Brian Sitzmann and Gable Smith along with some coaches, gave back to their community.
On Tuesday, April 10, four members of the University of Minnesota Crookston men’s basketball team assisted the Crookston Care and Share Center which needs a remodel project in one of the dorm rooms for its residents.
Tom Anderson, a C&S board member brought the project idea to the Crookston Lions club. Anderson is also a Lions member. The decision was made to provide volunteer labor and designate funds towards the project. Four members along with two coaches of the UMC men’s basketball team helped carry drywall up several flights on stairs.
Thrivent Financial, seen on the banner in the picture, provided some seed monies to be put towards construction materials. The project includes adding insulation and drywall to the walls with an entire painting of the room.
