Hockey players head to Prior Lake.

The Crookston PeeWee hockey team took second place at the PeeWee B Regional Tournament over the weekend in Duluth to advance to the State PeeWee B Tournament in two weeks in Prior Lake. The Crookston PeeWees advanced to regions by previously taking second place at the PeeWee District Tournament in Bemidji. Taking first place in Duluth and also advancing to Prior Lake was Red Lake Falls. The Crookston kids had to rally in Duluth after winning their first game but then losing their next game Saturday morning to Grand Rapids. But they won their third and fourth games before defeating Grand Rapids in a rematch Sunday, 6-3. The Crookston PeeWees are first-year goalie Jaren Bailey, Nathan Kelly, Drake Lord, Kalob Armstrong, Zachary Tahran, Zach Johnson, Blaine Andringa, Jackson Demarais, Thor Harbott, Jack Doda, Alex Longoria, and Sam Stewart. Their head coach is Wade Demarais, and he’s assisted by Brett Tahran and Zach Sanders.
