The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s and women’s basketbal teams set to open their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference home schedule Friday and Saturday at Lysaker Gymnasium.

    UMC opens weekend action against MSU Moorhead tonight (Friday) with the women tipping off at 6 p.m. and the men tipping off at 8 p.m.

    The Golden Eagles then host Northern State University on Saturday with the women beginning at 4 p.m. and the men following at 6 p.m.

    The Golden Eagles men’s team enters the weekend with a 3-4 overall and 0-2 NSIC record.

    Through seven regular season games this season, UMC averages 73.1 points-, 31.9 rebounds- and 11.6 assists-per-game.

    The women’s team enters the weekend with an 0-6 overall and 0-2 record.

    The Golden Eagles currently average 62.7 points-, 38.7 rebounds- and 9.5 assists-per-game.

MSU Moorhead
    The MSUM Dragons women’s team enters Friday’s matchup with a 6-1 overall and 3-0 NSIC record.

    As a team, the Dragons average 63.3 points-, 38 rebounds- and 14 assists-per-game against opponents.

    The Dragons currently average 41.8 percent from the field, 32.9 percent from beyond the arc and 73 percent from the free-throw line.

    The MSUM men’s team, meanwhile, enters Friday’s matchup with a 7-1 overall and 3-0 conference record.

    The men average 92.9 points-, 35 rebounds- and 15.4 assists-per-game.

    The Dragons are currently shooting 53.2 percent from the field, 48.6 from the 3-point range and 78.4 percent from the charity stripe.

Northern State University
    As of Friday, the Northern State Wolves women’s team holds a 6-1 overall and 2-1 conference record.

    Combined, the Wolves are averaging 59 points-,  38.3 rebounds- and 15.7 assists-per-game against opponents.

    Through its first seven games, NSU currently averages 43.9 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from the 3-point range and 76.2 percent from the charity stripe.

    The men’s team currently holds a 5-4 overall and 1-2 conference record.

    Through nine games this season, the men’s team averages 86 points-, 35.7 rebounds- and 14.3 assists-per game.

    The Wolves have accumulated a 50.4 percent average in field goals, 43.6 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free-throw line.
