Golden Eagles to take on MSUM and Northern State Friday and Saturday at Lysaker Gymnasium

    The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles men’s and women’s basketball teams open their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference home schedules this weekend at Lysaker Gymnasium.

    The Golden Eagles are set to take on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons (7-1, 3-0 NISC) Friday, with the women’s game beginning at 6 p.m. and the men’s game following at 8 p.m.

    The Northern State University Wolves (5-4, 1-2 NSIC) come to town on Saturday, with the women’s game tipping off at 4 p.m. and the men’s game tipping off at 6 p.m.

    The UMC men’s team enters the weekend with a 3-4 overall and 0-2 NSIC record.

    Freshman guard Harrison Cleary currently leads the Golden Eagles with an average of 22.4 points-per-game and eight steals through seven matchups this season.

    The Golden Eagles women’s team enters the weekend with an 0-6 overall and 0-2 NSIC record.

    Sophomore guard Alison Hughes, who was named Student-Athlete of the Month in November along with Cleary, leads the women’s team with an average of 17.8 points-per-game.

    Sophomore teammate and redshirt-sophomore Isieoma Odor enters the weekend averaging 12.5 points- and 8.3 rebounds-per-game.
