ECFE ‘Going to the Movies’ event a big hit

Early Childhood Family Education's "Going to the Movies" event at the Grand Theatre was called a huge hit by organizers. About 30 children and their parents, and some grandparents, enjoyed watching "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and dancing from Elmo at Sesame Street.

Minnesota DNR deadlines for removing ice house shelters

Heavy snowfall across parts of Minnesota prompted many anglers to haul their fish houses off the ice in late February. People who haven’t yet removed their shelters should keep in mind upcoming removal deadlines and make plans to meet them.

Crookston Rotary Club

Bergeron named spring law scholarship winner

Brink Lawyers PA recently announced that Brooke Bergeron of Crookston is the winner of the Spring 2022 Brink Laywers University of North Dakota Law Scholarship. Bergeron is a second-year law student at the UND School of Law and currently serves as President of the Rural Practice Association, Treasurer of the Law Women’s Caucus, and is a member of the Criminal Law Association and Phi Delta Phi (International Legal Honor Society.)

Polk County East couple named Emerging Leaders

Robby and Sammi Davy, Fertile are Polk (East) County’s representatives in the 2022 Red River Valley Emerging Leadership Program. They, along with individuals from 16 other counties in northwestern and west central Minnesota, are being honored on March 26 for their participation in the leadership program and for their commitment to leadership in their community.

Polk County responds to bombardier fire

On March 3, Polk County Sheriff’s Office observed a bombardier on fire located on section 14 in Brandsvold Township. Upon arrival the driver, 48-year-old Jamey Gunderson, reported no injuries.
