Minnesota State Patrol Question: I have a child that will be turning 15 years old pretty soon. We farm for a living, what are some of the rules and requirements for a farm permit to drive? Answer: For those who qualify, there is a restricted farm license.

Are we in a pickle?

There is a craze sweeping the nation. People of all ages have flocked to this, um, well, I would call it an activity or a game but others call it a sport. So we’ll call it a sport, I guess. It is an unlikely craze. This sport has been around since 1965 but it’s been growing in the last decade. Some are even betting big on it. So it’s time we consider, sigh, pickleball.

DNR to host public meeting on CWD in Climax area Aug. 22

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is inviting hunters and anyone interested in deer to a public information meeting to discuss chronic wasting disease in the Climax area of northwestern Minnesota (deer permit area 661, formerly DPA 261). The meeting is 6-8 p.m.

August 5, 2022 — As part of Mall of America’s 30th Birthday Celebration, Mall of America is proud to be partnering with The National Center for Autonomous Technologies (NCAT) and partners supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Northland Community & Technical College, and the colleges and universities of Minnesota State to present Experience STEAM, an interactive indoor and outdoor mall-wide event that aims to inspire youth by showcasing a variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) careers in action Aug. 10-14.

Drafts Upsets Budweiser for League Championship

After a first-round bye, Drafts went 2-0 in the men's slow pitch league tournament to take the title. The Lumberjacks defeated American Crystal Sugar 12-10 in the quarterfinals, advancing to play Drafts.

FUN-damentals All-Star Team Released

Larry 'Woody' Woodbridge and Jason Heydt, coaches of the FUN-damentals volleyball camp, released the All-Star team members after the conclusion of their summer schedule. Libby Salentine of Crookston was recognized for her performance in camp, including leadership, sportsmanship, attitude and skillset.
