Having a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) located close to you offers big advantages. Providing confidential, no cost, one-on-one business consulting with established and prospective business owners and entrepreneurs provides small business owners with access to expertise and other resources to turn an idea into a reality or help your business adapt to a changing landscape.

Having access to an advisor locally opens up opportunities to discuss ideas, network, take advantage of valuable workshops, and seek help addressing the challenges that go along with owning your own business.

This week, the U.S. Department of Small Business Administration released profiles for small businesses in states across the country. There are 520,110 small businesses in Minnesota. These account for 99.5% of Minnesota businesses, and employ 46.2% of the state’s workforce. They also reported that 8,116 companies exported goods from Minnesota. Roughly 85% of this was from small firms, generating 29.7% of Minnesota’s 17.9 billion in total exports. 2018-Small-Business-Profiles-MN
