Entire District 593 teaching staff is honored as the 2020 Teacher of the Year
Normally around this time of year, near the end of another school year, the teachers’ bargaining unit, the Crookston Education Association, would be dishing out various rewards to teachers in the public schools, with the biggest award being the Teacher of the Year.
But, like just about everything else, the COVID-19 pandemic has modified that tradition as well. And, with the unprecedented challenges posed by the last two months-plus of the school year having to be carried out via distance learning, the CEA has announced that its 2020 Teacher of the Year is…the entire District 593 teaching staff.
Highland School fourth grade teacher Kim Davidson made the announcement on behalf of the CEA.
“We are proud to recognize each and every teacher for their professionalism, commitment, compassion and creativity as they deliver instruction in a way they have never done before,” the announcement states. “Each teacher will be presented with a gift card that the CEA will be purchasing from local businesses. Great job Crookston teaching staff. You truly are Teachers of the Year!”
