He was nominated by his neighbor Melanie Gilbertson

Melanie Gilbertson told the Times that her neighbor, Kent Riendeau, is just a “good person” and that was why she wanted to nominate him for the Crookston Times Good Neighbor award.

Gilbertson says Riendeau has helped a lot of people in the community clearing sidewalks in the winter, checking on senior citizens in his area of town, taking people shopping or doing the shopping for them, helping with groceries, feeding the neighbor’s cats while they are at the nursing home, and much more.

Riendeau sounded surprised when the Times called him to announce his nomination, but said he was grateful for the mention.

Note: The Times’ Good Neighbor award is for anyone in the community to nominate a “neighbor” who has helped or done good deeds in the community. Email jbengtson@crookstontimes.com with your nominations.
