Radio and cable TV broadcasts of Sunday 9 a.m., Wednesday 6:30 p.m. services will continue.

Dear Crookston Community,

As we continue to move into a new reality with COVID19 concerns, houses of worship also need to reflect on their role in the community and implement new practices that see to the safety of all people. Trinity Lutheran’s church council met to discuss these implications and the resulting consequences of decisions based on faith, science, and professional recommendations. We will be following recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health.

All activities at Trinity are suspended for two weeks. There are no public worship services March 18, 22, 25, and 29. That said, we will provide radio and cable tv broadcasts of worship at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. We are also looking into internet steaming services. Please tune in to worship together via alternate media to connect with our faith community. We will reevaluate policies on March 30, 2020.

After much deliberation Trinity’s church leaders decided that all funerals, weddings, and other events will follow CDC recommendations. As of March 17, 2020, that means no gathering of more than 50 in attendance and the practicing of physical distancing. CDC recommendations are known to change and we will also follow any funeral home policies during this time. We recognize this is a difficult thing to understand but it is in the best interest of all people concerning transmission of infection. Should a family choose to hold a funeral during this period they will have to make choices as to who will attend. A family could also choose to delay a memorial service for a later date.

The Trinity building will be locked now through March 30 but the staff will still be working. Staff will be coordinating outreach efforts during this time connecting needs with possible services. We will be providing online resources for you to make spiritual connections. Because of disease transmission, visitations are also suspended. Please use this as an opportunity to connect by telephone with family and friends. As Jesus commends us to Love God and Love Neighbor, take some time to check on those we know who might need some additional assistance and offer a friendly phone call, card, or hand-written letter.
