A man has died after police used a stun gun on him during an assault incident in St. Cloud, authorities said.

Police said the incident happened Wednesday afternoon. Officers were initially called to a medical incident in which a man was unresponsive. Before officers arrived, the female caller told authorities the man had become responsive and was possibly having a seizure.
Shortly after that, she told dispatch that the man was acting physically aggressive toward her and she stated she was being assaulted and choked, according to a news release from police.
Upon arrival, officers got no answer at the door so they breached the door to get inside the apartment. They found the man inside and used a stun gun while arresting him. Police said he became unresponsive during the arrest, and was taken to a hospital where he died.
The woman was found inside the apartment and had minor injuries from the assault. One officer also suffered minor injuries, police said.
The involved officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating.
