It’s at the Humane Society of Polk County, and proceeds will benefit animal shelter

The Crookston Pioneer 100 Kiwanis Club will be raising money for the Humane Society of Polk County by sponsoring a dog walk on Saturday, Oct. 26 beginning and ending at the Humane Society on East Robert Street.

Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the walk will commence at 1 p.m.

The event is being coordinated by the Crookston High School Kiwanis Builders Club. Proceeds collected will be presented to the Humane Society.

The cost to participate is $5. There will be dog check-points and water and treats along the route to keep the dogs motivated to continue to the next station.

If you bring your dog to the event, you are asked to make sure your dog(s) has up to date rabies vaccinations and are able to socialize well with other people and animals. Organizers reserve the right to turn away and dogs and their owners if a dog appears to be dangerous.

A map, doggy bags and dog treats will be provided to all who register. There will be a hot dog lunch available for $5 that will also include water or pop and chips.

If you are looking to adopt a pet or tour the Humane Society of Polk County, it will be open during the dog walk.
