Native American students have been running the Highland Greenhouse this year.

Native American students at Crookston’s Highland Elementary School have been coordinating the school’s greenhouse during the 2018-19 school year, and their efforts will culminate Thursday, May 16 with their annual plant sale at the school.

Dave Emanuel, Indian Education coordinator at the school, tells the Times that the sale will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday in front of the Highland Greenhouse. Set-up will commence as soon as the school buses pull away from the building, he said. The sale will end before 5:30 p.m. if all the plants are sold.

There will be hanging baskets available, 4-inch plants and six-packs available. Plants will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with no early sales, Emanuel says.
