104% of $160,000 2019 campaign goal is raised, and counting.

The United Way of Crookston shifted away this year from its recent "Spring Fling" events and held a "Wine Social" with snacks at the Crookston Inn & Convention Center Thursday evening, a more traditional event that gave United Way leaders and their community partner agencies a chance to share the spotlight and tell detailed, specific stories of how the community support of the United Way and its resulting funding positively impacts lives.

As a result, as several of the stories were told by agency representatives, who also received their United Way of Crookston allocation checks, there weren't many dry eyes in the ballroom.

There is still a Hugo's golf scramble at Minakwa Golf Course this summer that will add to the 2019 campaign's bottom line, before the 2020 campaign kicks off in October with the annual Soup and Chili Cook-Off & Chocolate Extravaganza.

"We live in a wonderful, supportive community," United Way of Crookston Executive Director Lori Wagner said.
