Council will also get updates on RiverView project, RV campground, and TIF District for Fournet building
The Crookston City Council’s Ways & Means Committee Monday night is expected to approve what looks to be new Mayor Guy Martin’s final recommended appointee to begin a term in 2019.
Martin has forwarded Sara Geist to be appointed to the Crookston Library Board.
Geist’s likely approval comes on the heels of the committee previously approving the following appointees:
• Andy Gjerswold to the Crookston Airport Commission
• Nate Lubarski to the Park Board (to replace Don Cavalier, who was elected to the city council)
• Bill Anderson to the City Development Policy & Review Committee
• Rand Hughes to the City Planning Commission
The council committee will also hear a trio of presentations on significant projects in Crookston. RiverView Health CEO Carrie Michalski will update the council on RiverView’s plans for a multi-million dollar construction project; Linda Kingery of the Northwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership will update the council on the Red Lake River Corridor Enhancement Project, which includes a new RV campground in Central Park; and, Paul Steinman of Springsted financial advisors will update the council on the process of establishing a Tax-Increment Financing District for the Fournet Building redevelopment project downtown.
