Erica Uttermark’s fifth grade class at Highland School pooled their money and purchased four “Angels” off the Angel Tree at the Villa St. Vincent so they could buy Christmas gifts for four Villa residents.

Plus, Highland School held open house events in classrooms Thursday for parents and grandparents to visit and do crafts with their favorite students.

Thursday’s gatherings were also accompanied by gingerbread house building with second graders and their families.

Highland’s holiday events continue Friday with more open houses, teacher Kari Heppner’s “Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” and teacher Kerri Brantner’s Readers Theater.
