An early Wednesday pursuit ended in a crash near Euclid and the arrest of the driver.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says it started around 1:28 a.m. when a deputy on patrol in Belgium Township saw a vehicle traveling in a suspicious manner. The deputy activated his emergency lights and tried to follow the vehicle, which sped off, turning off and on the roadway. The pursuit led into a field in Euclid Township, but the deputy remained in the roadway while monitoring the vehicle. The vehicle hit another roadway and crashed; the vehicle landed on the opposite side of 140th St. SW, around 3/4 of a mile west of Highway 75.

The driver, Ethan Don-Edward Yarbro, 19, of Euclid was taken by ambulance to RiverView Health, along with his passenger, a 17-year-old female, who suffered minor injuries. The PCSO says both had been drinking.

   Charges are pending.
