The history of hockey in Crookston continues to unfold at Crookston Sports Center, where many have said since it opened in 2010 that it needs more photos of local teams from the past as well as individual players who have played hockey beyond their high school careers.

An effort spearheaded by Scott Kleven has resulted in Travis Oliver’s Industrial Technology students at Crookston High School, primarily Leyton Salentine, Jake Anderson and Eric Delorme, taking Pirate girls hockey team photos, placing them on white oak countertops that run along the swivel seats in the CSC’s Event Arena, and applying acrylic Plexiglas over the top of the photos.

Oliver says future projects will focus on Pirate boys’ teams and Cathedral Blue Wave hockey teams.
