A dryer fire early Thursday at the West Central Ag Services elevator in Beltrami caused extensive property damage, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports, but no one was hurt.
The call came in at 1:30 a.m. from the elevator, located at 606 Atlantic Avenue. The Beltrami Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from Crookston, Fertile, Ada and Climax, as well as County EMS.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been notified to determine a cause. No foul play is suspected.
Around nine minutes before the Beltrami call came in, the PCSO responded to a report of an out-building on fire at 37772 210th Ave. SE in Erskine. Erskine and Mentor firefighters battled the blaze, which caused extensive damage.
No one was hurt, and no foul play is suspected. A cause has yet to be determined.
