Bjorgo announces last day of business will be Saturday, Sept. 15.

Crookston’s north-end coffee bistro, Cofé, is closing. It’s last day of business, owner Dawn Bjorgo announced on the business’ Facebook page, will be Saturday, Sept. 15.

It’s an unfortunate but necessary decision, Bjorgo wrote in her post.

“I would like to thank all the faithful customers who have supported Cofé for the last 5-plus years. I would also like to thank all the dedicated employees throughout the 5-plus years,” she writes. “There are several of you that for sure without you there is no way I could have done it. It has been a journey and time to be the END.”

While calling it a sad day for the community, Bjorgo in her post said that he hopes “someone is going to pick up the journey and allow Crookston to continue to have a very unique, quaint coffee option and bring even more coffee options to the community.”

It’s been an eventful run for Cofé, with Dawn and Harold Bjorgo on multiple occasions refinancing and otherwise tweaking their financing through CHEDA and/or the City of Crookston. Along the way, they added craft beers and wine to their menu and live entertainment, before scaling back their evening hours.
