Commissioner Lee in District 4 has a challenger

    Candidates for Polk County Commissioner in Districts 2 and 4, County Sheriff, County Attorney, and four of five districts for Soil and Water supervisors have filed for the November election. Commissioner Warren Strandell of District 2 has re-filed as has Commissioner Joan Lee of District 4. Dennis Boucher of McIntosh has filed to run against Lee.

    For Polk County Sheriff, Jim Tadman and Randy Sondrol, both Sheriff’s Office employees and both from Erskine, have filed.

    Polk County Attorney Greg Widseth of Crookston is currently running unopposed.

    For Polk County Soil and Water Supervisor, in District 1 East, Kenneth Pederson of Fertile is running and no one has filed for District 2 East. In the West, District 1 candidate is Mark McWalter of East Grand Forks, District 3 candidate is Johnathan Sorenson of Crookston, and District 5 candidate is Chris Cournia of Crookston.

    The filing period for federal, state, and county offices ended on June 5.
