A North Dakota man convicted of drugging a teenager and sexually assaulting her for several months has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors say George Robert Lyons, 38, gave sleeping pills to a teenage girl once a week under the guise of needing to clean her ears from July 2009 and January 2010. The girl told Grand Forks District Judge John Thelen during a sentencing hearing Monday that all her relationships have been damaged and she is afraid Lyons will retaliate when he's released from prison.

Lyons' attorney is expected to appeal. Lyons planned on speaking during the hearing but became emotional and said he was "at a loss for words."

Lyons has a pending court case in Polk County as well involving a case that reportedly involves circumstances similar to the North Dakota case.
