Willhite, Jacobson say they’d like to see more communication and increased partnerships

The two Polk County commissioners who represent portions of Crookston on the county board, Jerry Jacobson in District 1 and Gary Willhite in District 3, attended this week’s Crookston City Council meeting and, during the public forum that opens each meeting, indicated they’d like to increase communication, first, and then potential collaborations and partnerships with the council and the City.

“The county’s relationships and partnerships with communities are important,” Willhite said, adding that he couldn’t recall the last time that council members and commissioners sat down together to discuss issues important to both entities.

The door was left open by Mayor Wayne Melbye for just such a meeting.
