It takes a strong team to get a busy practice running smoothly, but that’s what has taken place in the spine practice of Drs. Hamid Abbasi and Sunny Kim.
Beth Bray, PFS, is quick to credit Laura Trousil, LPN, with much of the credit for making the practice strong, saying: “Knowing the legwork and brainwork it took to get this practice running this smoothly, I feel like Laura definitely deserves to be recognized for all of her ongoing efforts!’’
Thanks to comments from Bray and Amy Seaver, director of Clinics, Trousil was recently recognized by being named RiverView’s Employee of the Month for May.
Trousil started at Riverview in February 2015. She initially worked nights in the Care Center until August 2015 when she transferred to the East Grand Forks Clinic to be Jean Gullicks’ nurse. When Gullicks retired in December 2015, Trousil started as a float in the North Clinic. She worked with Angela Salveson from June 2016 to February 2017. Since February 2017 she has been Dr. Kim’s nurse and began working with Dr. Abbasi in June 2017.
The child of a father who was civil service Air Force, Trousil moved around a bit growing up. She lived in Minot, ND, for the longest stint. She received her LPN from Rasmussen College, Moorhead.
She and her husband, David, were married in 2015. They have two children: Henry, who will be three in August, and Lyla, 10 months.
Although Trousil was on maternity leave for the team’s Rapid Improvement Event, Bray says Trousil “welcomed the changes that we had made in her absence. She took those changes and made them work even better, always looking for the next thing that would make all of our lives easier to do this complicated work.’’
And of her honor for her dedication to RiverView, Trousil shared: “I am grateful every day to work with a dedicated and caring team that continually strives to provide exceptional care to our patients.’’
