Ben Widseth, 19, of Lengby was reported missing early Sunday; shotgun was missing, too
A Lengby man was found deceased Monday after a day-long search in rural Polk County.
Benjamin Daniel Widseth, 19, went missing Sunday at approximately 3 a.m. two miles north of Lengby.
Widseth’s body was found 2 p.m. on Monday, April 23, said a Polk County Sheriff’s Office news release. Law enforcement said no foul play was suspected in the case and did not say how he died.
Widseth’s body was transported to the University of North Dakota Medical Examiners Office in Grand Forks for an autopsy.
A ground and aerial search was conducted by family, friends and law enforcement on Sunday with no signs of Widseth.
It was believed that Widseth left on foot when he left the residence and there was also a shotgun missing from the residence.
Assisting agencies included the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Minnesota State Patrol, Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Customs and Border enforcement, and Minnesota State Patrol Aviation Division.
