An accident occurred Wednesday evening in front of Holiday gas station when an SUV collided with a semi who was attempting to enter the gas station’s parking lot.

Gabriel Amon, 80, of Crookston, driving a 2014 white Chevrolet Captiva, was traveling south on Main Street in the parking lane and collided with the trailer portion of the semi, driven by Jordan Hunter, 34, of Northfield, Minn., who was reportedly traveling in the far right lane of traffic attempting to enter the parking lot.

Crookston Police Chief Paul Biermaier told the Times that there was little to no damage to the trailer and light to moderate damage to the Captiva, and there were no injuries.

Crookston Fire Department’s Shane Heldstab told the Times that both the semi and Captiva were able to drive away from the scene and that the fire department assisted the police department with debris clean-up on the roadway after the vehicles separated.

The crash is still under investigation.
