The May 30 for 30 Challenge is back again this year, encouraging local residents to spend time outdoors all month long.

Last year, former Mayor Gary Willhite launched the initiative to get outside for at least a half-hour each day of the month to improve our health and well-being as a community. The challenge's goal, however, is to experience the benefits of the outdoors and activity beyond May.

"I loved the idea, and really saw the community come together last year, and wanted to keep the momentum going," said Amanda Lien, Chamber executive director. "One of the things I pride the Chamber on doing is gathering and connecting people, and carrying forth initiatives. This creates community and more people out and about sharing similar goals."

To join the Challenge, like the Crookston Chamber & Visitors Bureau Facebook page and find the event. If you don't receive the “Weekly What's Up,” you can also choose to sign up and receive weekly updates and reminders about outdoors activities in Crookston. Those that participate online will be entered in to win $50 Chamber Bucks at the end of the month.
