Investigation into misconduct by Prowler players triggers action; Feb. 4 game will be forfeited, too.

Crookston Pirate Boys’ Hockey Coach Josh Hardy on Tuesday confirmed a Times inquiry, that Thursday’s game between the Pirates and Thief River Falls Prowlers in Thief River Falls will not be played because the Prowlers have forfeited the game.

The Prowlers have forfeited Thursday’s Section 8A showdown against the Pirates, in addition to a second game scheduled for Saturday against St. Cloud Cathedral, due to an investigation by the Thief River Falls School District and the Thief River Falls Amateur Hockey Association into reported misconduct by some Thief River Falls hockey players.

The Pirates host rival East Grand Forks Tuesday evening at Crookston Sports Center. They host Park Rapids Area Friday, Feb. 3 at the CSC, making up a game previously canceled due to a winter storm.
