Funeral Services were Friday, December 16, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Lavern J. Hagert, 86, of Sauk Rapids who died at his home Tuesday. Burial was at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Wabasso.
Lavern was born January 24, 1930 in Wabasso to John and Rose (Fernholz) Hagert. He served his country in the United States Army.
Lavern was united in marriage to Verna Oltz September 24, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids.
He worked as a delivery man for Food Service of America for 22 years and retired in 1990. Lavern enjoyed trips to the casino, spending time with his family, eating at Perkins and pheasant hunting.
Survivors include his son, Andrew (Leah) of Gilman; grandson, Nicholas and sister, Phyllis Mangan of Le Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Verna January 14, 2013 and siblings, Kathleen Senger, Bernard, Gladys Morley, Elmer, Louie and John, Jr.
