Crookston Times Celebrates Local Nonprofits with Twelve Days of Giving

This holiday season, the Crookston Times is celebrating the amazing work of local nonprofits with the Twelve Days of Giving. From December 14 to December 25, we will feature 12 different organizations that are helping make our community a better place. These nonprofits are working hard to help people in need, support education, protect the environment, and more.

Why Volunteering is Important

Volunteering doesn’t just help the organizations—it also helps the people who volunteer. Studies show that volunteering can improve your mood, reduce stress, and even make you healthier. Did you know that people who volunteer are 27% more likely to find a job after being unemployed? It’s a great way to learn new skills and meet new people.

Helping out also makes a big difference in the community. Volunteering builds strong connections between people, helps solve problems, and creates a better place for everyone to live. On average, every hour a volunteer works is worth about $31.80 to their community. Imagine the impact we could have if more people pitched in!
